Looking for an awesome watermelon lemonade recipe? This fizzy watermelon limonade is so easy to make and a super refreshing summer drink to make with kids. If you have leftover watermelon and are wondering what to do with it all, look no further!
The thing about watermelons is that they are huge! What do you do with all that stuff? (besides eat it at every meal of course!)
One watermelon lasts my family about a week or two, unless we get creative with it!
We have made icy watermelon balls, dehydrated watermelon, watermelon popsicles, watermelon rind ‘pickles’, and today I made this yummy watermelon lemonade with a lime-twist.
I love this limonade because it is almost like a soda. It is fizzy, airy, and a little acidic and sweet. The blended watermelon texture is really pleasant, this drink is a great go to for any summer meal. It would be a super easy party drink too, since there is so much watermelon to use!
You can top these glasses with lime or lemon slices, watermelon wedges, or sprigs of mint. You could even go really fancy and sugar dip the tops of the glasses for a party.
My toddler’s favorite way to drink it is with a floralpink paper straw with a few watermelon chunks left inside for her to eat after her drink is gone.
Next on my watermelon list is to make this into some kind of creamy horchata watermelon drink invention, but for today, this limonade hit the spot!
All you have to do is mix all the ingredients, and blend them until smooth. You can use a blender or food processor, or a hand held immersion blender if you’re making a small batch like I did today.
If you’re making a large batch, I recommend blending all the watermelon in a blender, then dumping it into a large pot or your serving vessel to stir in the rest of the ingredients.
Watermelon Limonade Ingredients:
- 4 Cups Chopped Watermelon (it’s better if it’s cold!)
- 6 cups cold water
- 1 cup Lemon juice (we just use juice from concentrate, but fresh would be so much better!!)
- 1/2 cup Lime Juice
- 1/2 cup Honey
To make it super fizzy, before serving blend or whip it really well, or if you have a lidded container you can shake it too.
Keep this is the fridge until serving to keep it cold.
We don’t usually drink juice but this is a pretty mild juice compared to some beverage options… but if your kids are anything like mine they will still love it!
